Meet The Founder & CEO
Dr. Oscia Miles is a visionary leader, accomplished artist, and builder of transformative educational spaces. With over 20 years of professional performance experience, she has graced stages alongside world-renowned artists, including the legendary Kathleen Battle, and has performed with The Metropolitan Opera. Locally, she has shared her talent on stages at Eastman School of Music and Jewish Community Center of Greater Rochester, bringing the power of the arts to her community.
Dr. Miles holds a Doctorate in Executive Leadership from St. John Fisher University. Her leadership journey is marked by a deep commitment to excellence, equity, and innovation. Having successfully helped design, launch, and scale a high-performing school, Bellavista School of the Arts represents her second school build—and the most personal one yet.
A proud product of the Rochester City School District, Dr. Miles knows firsthand the transformative power of education and artistic expression. As both an educator and a mother, she has skin in the game—this work is more than a vision; it’s a legacy.
Through Bellavista School of the Arts, she is reimagining what’s possible for young people: a school that merges rigorous academics with immersive arts education, nurturing scholars who lead with creativity, confidence, and cultural pride.
Bellavista isn’t just a school with arts programming — it’s an inclusive cultural movement. Here, students of all backgrounds come together to celebrate, create, and lead, carrying forward traditions that build confidence, leadership, and legacy.
Scholar Experience
At Bellavista School of the Arts, the arts aren’t just something students do — it’s who we are. Our program blends arts integration, performing arts, and the rich cultural traditions inspired by HBCUs to create an experience that is vibrant, joyful, and rooted in excellence and community.
Inspired by the heartbeat of HBCU campuses, Bellavista brings energy, pride, and belonging to every corner of the school. Our scholars don’t just perform — they command the stage, celebrate culture, and build community together.
Our arts experience honors cultural excellence, fosters pride and belonging, and reflects the energy of HBCU life — from drumlines and step shows to creative showcases and community celebrations.
